Some improvements include a single air handling unit within the building enclosure that provides both heating and cooling, an independent supply ventilation system, placing the ductwork in the conditioned space, creating an air flow retarder system through glued gypsum board, and high performance glazing. Results show a 40% reduction in heating, cooling and domestic hot water costs could be achieved for little or no additional cost. The models also exceed required airtightness standards.
